Poems

Over the years I have written poems both humorous and serious for all sorts of occasions. Funny retirement poems concerning old age and all that it brings.  For special birthdays, anniversaries and weddings. I have written for best men when they have been too nervous to speak publicly for the first time or without notes. Having a rhyme, saying all that they wanted to say, somehow controlled the nerves and made the occasion into an enjoyable one instead of one of fear and dread.  I have also written serious poems. One called 'Our Dad' for two daughters who had lost their father, and wanted to tell the congregation what a lovely man he had been.  They were too upset to read it themselves, but the vicar read it out instead.  It meant so much to them.
